About Dumpling Man

Located at 100 St Marks Pl #7, New York, NY 10009, Dumpling Man operates as a shanghainese serving New York in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under chinese restaurant, restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in New York; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 12–9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Dumpling Man at (212) 505-2121; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New York follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is literally my favourite food place in the whole city. I love them genuinely so much I try to come here as much as possbible. ALTHOUGH I’m writing this review because i love them sooo much I want them to change back a recent development made on their sauces. The sauces are one of the best parts of the meal, adding amazing and complex flavors to your dumplings. Many have noticed that the sauces are much different now, more diluted with an interesting aftertaste. This is a plea to please bring back the old method of sauce making. It was fantastic and I would do ANYTHING.

DO NOT EAT HERE. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The food is disgusting. $15 for 10 seared shrimp dumplings that were so hard & thick I couldn't eat them. They were all packed with corn & the shrimp was hard as a rock. I thought maybe if I boiled them in hot water I could soften them but no, still hard. I have NEVER had dumplings this bad and I've lived in LES for 40 years. It was a teenage girl who cooked the food along with a couple in their 70s & 80s who need to retire. I got takeout or I would have asked for a refund. I still might.

Dumplings are no good. ordered chicken and shrimp. the orange one is supposedly chicken. the white ones were white fish, corn and shrimp β€” these were overly packed with corn: The dumplings wrap was waaaay to thick. would not recommend

My go-to soup dumplings and dumplings spot in NYC. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the soup dumplings are my favorite. Their texture, filling, and sauces - the best!! Price is great, cash and Zelle only (they do have an ATM). The staff is always so warm and friendly. It's small inside, but they have bar style seating with one side facing where they prep and cook the dumplings. Been coming here for years, highly recommend!

This was a nice little hidden gem for some yummy dumplings. The price is pretty good for the area of east village. The dumplings for 6-8 pieces costs around $8-$10. I liked the vibrant color of the dumplings. The dumplings are also made right in front of you and you can see it be made. And the dumplings come out fairly quickly. There is also seating indoors and outdoors. This place is cash only and has vegetarian dumplings available!
